DreamHack will host another round of Cash Cup Extra events for competitive Fortnite players this month marking the return of DreamHack tournaments after a brief hiatus.
Cash Cup Extra Format
The initial DreamHack series premiered in Season 6 earning a warm reception from the community. The Cash Cup Extra was a separate tournament from the Dream Hack Opens that used the results of each weekly Trio Cash Cup and gave the top 132 teams a chance to participate in a separate tournament. This mode was a great success, with victories for some of the finest NA East and European teams. The top-performing trios in the weekly Fortnite Trio Cash Cup competitions will be invited to compete in the Cash Cup Extra. Here is the format of the tournament:
- Top 132 trios from each weekly Trio Cash Cup qualify for the Cash Cup Extra
- A three-hour session
- A maximum of ten possible matches
Cash Cup Extra Scoring System
The scoring system is relatively different compared to other trio tournaments. While placement points remain similar, teams will earn six points per elimination, increasing their significance.
