Indie developer Montraluz, alongside publisher Tlön Industries, has launched Liminal Hotel, the newest expansion for the surreal body-cam psychological horror hit Dreamcore. The update is available today, inviting players into a haunting, dreamlike hotel that feels abandoned — yet disturbingly aware of your presence.
A New Descent Into Liminal Horror
Liminal Hotel delivers Dreamcore’s definitive take on the iconic “Level 188” backrooms concept. Players travel via elevator across shifting hotel floors, each one peeling further away from reality. Time collapses, rooms distort, and forgotten artifacts fill spaces that feel eerily familiar yet impossible.
This update represents a major turning point for Dreamcore’s map design. It brings significant improvements long requested by the community, including a reduced focus on complex puzzles to keep progression smooth and immersive.
Existing Dreamcore owners receive Liminal Hotel as a free update. New players will find it included in the base game, which now costs $14.99 to reflect the large amount of post-launch content.
About Dreamcore
Dreamcore sends players into vast, dreamlike labyrinths inspired by the viral liminal spaces and backrooms aesthetic. Each world offers a nonlinear environment filled with environmental storytelling, disappearance-of-time sensations, and a unique puzzle that must be solved to escape.
Built in Unreal Engine 5, Dreamcore blends 1980s-style nostalgia, VHS grain, and unsettling architectural oddities to create one of the most atmospheric surreal horror experiences in gaming. Every map offers distinct visuals, eerie audio design, and endless exploration potential.
