It’s that time of the week, and Bandai has released a new Dragunov Tekken 8 reveal trailer!
The White Angel of Death silently strides into the Iron Fist Tournament.
But let’s take a look at the Russain commando.
Dragunov Tekken 8 Reveal Showcase
Keeping up with their weekly showcases, Bandai Namco has dropped yet another Tekken 8 trailer. This time showcasing the Russian general Sergei Dragunov.
Dragunov is a member of a special forces operations unit within the Russian military. Story-wise, he has beef with many members of the roster given his millitary allegation. But really, he only joins the tournament each time because he is ordered.
Although he is popular, he is a man of few words. Dragonuv is recognized by his distinct grunts and huphs he lets out mid-fight. But he has spoken a few times in the games; this is rare even for other fighters. This causes them to be unsettled whenever this happens.
He is the coldest fighter in Tekken, both literally and literally, given his region of operation. The poor guy is ordered by the millitary to bring in specimens like Devil Jin and is expected to succeed. As a man of few words, players enjoy his cold demeanor and how they can never get a read on him.
Imagine if the Russian from Rockey was a grappler and never spoke, and you would have Dragunov.
His play style is all about asserting pressure and hitting hard. Guy is a Russian power house and is scary to go up against. having some of the hardest hitting moves in Tekken as well as great counters even while crouching. This guy is both a great defensive and offensive fighter.
Using Commando Sambo, a Russian army style of fighting, he uses heavy hits and tight grapples. His range of grapples works in the 50/50 range, like going from eye gouge to either a low sweep or a grab instead.
Also in his kit are some gritty lows making a return. His iconic slide is back, as are various low launchers. What is interesting is his new low tackle, which is similar to Mardock’s ranged grab. However, this looks like it is heat-dependent.
