The newly-revamped Dota 2 roster of Team Secret features two new heavy hitters, but are they enough to bring a first TI title for Europe’s strongest team?
Just a few days ago, the deadline for roster lock-ins for Dota 2’s next DPC season has ended, bringing with it a surprising number of roster moves and changes that is sure to shake up the game at the highest competitive level. Today, we’ll be taking a look at Team Secret, which acquired two new players to abolster their ranks, with both looking to prove themselves once again after disappointing showings at TI10.
Team Secret Dota 2 roster
- Michał “Nisha” Jankowski (position 1)
- Sumail “SumaiL” Hassan (mid-laner)
- Daryl “iceiceice” Koh Pei Xiang (off-laner)
- Yazied “YapzOr” Jaradat (soft support)
- Clement “Puppey” Ivanov (hard support)
At a glance
To those familiar with their play, losing both Lasse “MATUMBAMAN” Urpalainen and Ludwig “zai” Wåhlberg should be considered to be quite the blow for Team Secret. Besides Nisha, both are considered to be the stand-outs of the team, and they leave very big shoes to fill with their leaving. However, if there is a list of players who can fill these expectations, SumaiL and iceiceice both sit near the top of that list. With both OG and Evil Geniuses suffering major blowouts at TI10, SumaiL and iceiceice are both coming into this new DPC season looking to prove themselves against the ever-shifting Dota 2 landscape.
iceiceice at EU
With iceiceice joining Team Secret, the legendary off-laner has managed to cement himself in four regions: China, Southeast Asia, North America, and Europe. He is also one of the most notable veterans that have yet to gain an Aegis. With a recognizably more stacked region, it will be interesting to see how iceiceice can grow into the EU scene, and if Team Secret will remain the powerhouse they are once the new DPC season begins.
