Destiny 2 has officially kicked off its annual Guardian Games 2026 event, bringing back the fan-favorite competition alongside a brand-new crossover with Magic: The Gathering. The limited-time event runs from March 24 through April 14, giving players the chance to compete for class supremacy while earning exclusive rewards.
Guardian Games 2026: Compete for Class Supremacy
The Guardian Games event pits the three core classes; Titans, Hunters, and Warlocks, against each other in a race to collect medallions and climb the podium. Players can earn points by completing activities across the game, contributing to their class’s overall standing.
This year’s event introduces several updates, including a revamped Rushdown mode, which now features randomized boss encounters and daily boss rotations to keep gameplay fresh and competitive.
Players can also progress through a full event reward track, unlocking items such as:
- New shaders
- Ships
- Emblems
- Ghost Shells
- Holofoil weapons
New Guardian Games Weapons
Three exclusive weapons are available during the event:
- Triple Laureate – Stasis Hand Cannon
- The Beacon – Solar Fusion Rifle
- Keraunios – Arc Trace Rifle
Earn More Rewards with Vanguard Orders
A new system called Rare Vanguard Orders has been introduced for Guardian Games 2026. These event-focused tasks allow players to earn additional Bright Dust, a key in-game currency.
- Earn 50 Bright Dust per completion up to a weekly cap of 1,000
- After reaching the cap, earn 10 Bright Dust per completion
Bright Dust can be used to purchase Guardian Games-themed Legendary Armor Ornaments and other cosmetics during the event.
Destiny 2 x Magic: The Gathering Collaboration
Launching alongside Guardian Games is a crossover with Magic: The Gathering, bringing themed cosmetics inspired by iconic characters from the franchise.

- Hunter — Mindsculptor Set inspired by Jace Beleren
- Warlock — Death’s Majesty Set inspired by Liliana Vess

Shadow and Order Update Delayed
Developer Bungie has also confirmed that the upcoming Shadow and Order major update has been delayed. Originally planned earlier, the update is now scheduled to release on June 9, 2026, as the team continues to expand its scope and refine new features.
