Hideo Kojima returns with Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, an ambitious sequel to his genre-defying original. Kojima Productions develops the title, once again making it a PlayStation 5 exclusive.
The World Is Broken Again
In Death Stranding 2, players revisit a fractured future where life and death collide. Norman Reedus reprises his role as Sam Porter Bridges. This time, he isn’t traveling solo. Fragile (Léa Seydoux) leads a new organization that works to reconnect humanity.
The trailer shows Sam journeying across harsh lands, fighting strange enemies, and confronting a masked antagonist. Troy Baker voices this new villain, who looks to become a major threat.
New Threats and Allies
On the Beach introduces new tools, companions, and challenges. The gameplay highlights advanced traversal mechanics, including improved vehicles and gear. Sam also travels with a puppet-like robot companion that helps during both travel and combat.
The story leans into emotion. Kojima promises a deeper narrative that explores connection, loneliness, and sacrifice.
Powered by Decima
The Decima engine once again powers the visuals. The game delivers cinematic storytelling and environmental gameplay. Kojima’s team designed each scene with precision. Rain-soaked cities and windswept plains set the tone for this mysterious journey.
When Is It Coming?
Kojima Productions plans to release the game in 2025, exclusively on PlayStation 5. They haven’t shared an exact date yet, but fans hope to hear more later this year.
