Take a bite of my latest Deadlock Drifter guide and stop sucking the wrong way!
Valve dropped a bunch of new champs for the game, including two vampires.
But how does Drifter fare, and is he worth the whole eternal damnation stick?
Deadlock Drifter Stalker
Firstly, the Deadlock Drifter is a dedicated assassin or Warwick-esque champ. He excels in finishing off enemies solo alone in a dark alley and has a bunch of pursuit options.
Although he is the opposite of a werewolf,, he has a similar blood smell trail like Warwick. This will point out to you nearby champs who are low on health.

But before you pounce on anyone,, you are going to take into account his play style. Because he is not that weak for an assassin but can be tricky to master.
This Cajun vampire is an aggressive and offensive champ that enjoys slapping enemies CQC style. His kit is built around chipping, bleeding and teleporting behind for a smack.

Starting off for Deadlock Drifter, his first skill, Rend, is a super handy ranged melee cone attack. This attack will cleave through a bunch of enemies and deal extra damage up close. Deadlock Drifter can use this for sneaky farming chips and general attacks.
But in conjunction with Stalker’s Mark, it’s a great one-two finisher. See, this ability on hit marks the target, causing bleed damage. However, on the second press, it warps Drifter behind them instantly. So the start is to chip away with range, hit the mark, let it bleed for a bit, then TP to finish off with a rend of melee.

Although keep in mind you are warping to the enemy’s back and exposing yourself in team fights.
Also, this goes hand in hand with his passive Blood Scent ability. Even though it only works in isolated champs, it can help you with map control picking off targets.
I Gank Twilight Every Night
Finally finishing off Deadlock Drifter and his skillet is Eternal Night, the ult. After a windup, champs in the AOE are blinded and revealed while Drifter gets bonus speed and spirit damage. It’s no Vlad ult, but it does give him some use in team fights.

These spirit buffs make him hit harder, and honestly, it’s a great get-out-of-jail card when you get ganged up on. Honestly, I just threw it out when fighting more than one champ or when it got dicey.
Although he is built for isolated enemies, he is not the worst in a team-fight situation. Because his ult and Rend make him good for crowd control and fight balancing. Even his laning phase is pretty solid with the recharge rate of his ammo and DPS.

But his early game, like other aggressive champs, is rough, being too squishy and weak for duos. However, if you can manage stalking the map well, you can get a lot out of him.
This Deadlock Drifter guide recommends building a lot of melee, close-up and health regen items. Also add on some speed buffs for escapes, and you’ve got yourself a real dodgy vamp!
I also have a soft spot for Cajuns, so design-wise he gets a thumbs up from me.
