After Valve’s latest Beta release, some players are still reporting that CS2 feels laggy!
Although it has not been officially released, some gamers have come up with solutions.
Here are the reasons for it and how to solve it…
Players Say CS2 Feels Laggy
Players have been reporting that CS2 feels laggy still especially when compared to the smoothness of CSGO 1.
Lag and stuttering issues have been reported by many players, even on high-end PCs!
Although some believe it to be their lack of powerful enough hardware to run the game, these issues can also be network-related.
The new Counter-Strike 2 beta has some saying it feels clunky. Almost as if it runs on lower FPS than in reality, even if the counter says otherwise.
Also, an input delay problem has been reported a few times and investigated by Valve testers which confirms its existence.
Possible Fixes
One issue that could be the reason is NVIDIA in built settings. This can be easily fixed by:
- Opening the NVIDIA control panel: (Right click anywhere on the desktop)
- Click 3D Settings and then Manage 3D Settings.
- Look for the Program Settings tab and click CS2.exe
- Now turn Low Latency mode On

This may fix the issue for those running a PC with NVIDIA hardware.
However, if this does not fix the issue we also have some console commands in game that may help:
- “cl_updaterate”128” – This command tells you how often your PC asks for updates from the server. This setting reminds the server that we want a smooth experience. Some gamers have had this command fix the issue as their update rate was set much lower.

- “cl_interp”0.015” – This one tells the PC how long it should wait before seeing any new updates. This buffer helps smooth out any delays. By shortening it, we are asking the PC to hurry up showing them.

- “cl_interp_ratio”1″” – Here is the adjuster for how much buffer you want before getting updates from the server. If you do not see any immediate changes then try changing the value to “2” instead.

Having all three of these commands will insure that we are running the game via the network as smooth as possible.
If these do not work then perhaps it may be an actual hardware issue this time. Buit do keep in midn this is still a Beta and Valve will fix these issues down the line. These quirks should be expected from a Beta will be resolved hopefully by CS2’s full release date.
We hope that these issues get resolved quick and that the release window comes even quiker so we can get busy fragging!
