Valve added CS2 Buy Binds in the latest update finally!
This handy feature can elevate your gameplay and make round starts much faster.
Here is how to setup the binds and why you should…
CS2 Buy Binds Recent Update
On October 4, Valve successfully addressed the weapon buy binds issue. Creating appropriate buy binding console commands in CS2 is now more straightforward than ever, and can be achieved through two methods.
Buy binds are keyboard shortcuts to allow you to buy items quickly. We have found buy binds very helpful as when we need to drop a teammate a gun quickly or buy extra util when leaving a good spawn without having to fumble through the buy menu.
Before we begin it is also handy to check out this CS2 Bind Generator. Although it is not in game it gives a handy idea of what setup we would want.
Both methods involve openig the console window which we need to make sure we open with the key “`”. But make sure it is also enabled in your game settings.
Our first method is buy seeting a command to buy via the loadout slots.
Select your loadout slot for purchasing. Customize your weapon arrangement within the loadout. Then, utilize these commands by substituting ‘X’ with the desired slot (with ‘Secondary’ representing Pistols):
Bind "your key" buy secondaryX
Bind "your key" buy midtierX
Bind "your key" buy rifleX"
But , if you would rather just buy one or two guns via a bind then no problem. Type the following command bellow. Type the name of the gun/ equipment you want and assign it to any key. However, make sure the weapon is in your loadout other wise this will not work.
Bind "your key" buy weapon name
We personally prefer using the latter option as most of the time we just first buy Aks and M4s.
Counter Strike 2
Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) is a first-person shooter video game developed by Valve Corporation which is a part of the Counter-Strike series. It was announced to the public on March 22, 2023 with an tentative full release for Summer 2023 and a limited test beginning the same day. It was officially released on September 27, 2023.
This is the first game of the Counter-Strike series which utilizes Valve’s Source 2 game engine and features major technological advancements since Global Offensive such as “sub-tick” net-code technology, new voxel based volumetric smokes, and a new toolset for developing maps.
Hopefully, Valve will continue to add new updates like the recent one to CS2. Although it has been fun playing on Source 2, there are many features still absent from the original CS:GO release.
Many players are still baffled how private matchmaking does not work to this day even after Beta release.
