Name a more ambitious crossover than Infinity War?
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive has always owed a large portion of its successes to its community creating all manner of new game modes, modes, and things to do outside of the base game that its loyal fanbases have created together.
Well, there’s a new mod on the streets that has already made a real splash with the community: CSGO Kart. Check out Gamelevate as we take you through what this mode is all about, and how you get involved with it the next time you boot up Steam.
What Is CSGO Kart?
In short, CSGO Kart is a fan-made modification that puts players in go-karts in a capture-the-flag game mode. Combining the game with titles like Mario Kart and Rocket League, the game allows players to control these karts equipped with rockets that are able to blast rival players.
The mode was designed by Dieter Stassen and Luke Millanta under the collective name ‘Two Random Dudes’ and features a stellar map design and neon lights that combine for an incredibly striking aesthetic.
Speaking about the mod, Millanta claimed:
“Rocket League but in CSGO and with actual rockets. Instead of playing as soldiers/humans you instead take the form of a rocket-firing go-kart. From here each team battles it out to capture the other team’s flag and return it to their base.”
Every time players capture an enemy flag and return it to their base, they score a point. Throughout the map, there are ammo supplies, health kits, speed boosts, and teleporters to use strategically, with the team with the most points at the end of the game winning the match.
There’s obviously no escaping the fact this looks like a mod, but it’s still honestly incredible that CS:GO can continue to host so much creativity and variety outside its base game.
CSGO Kart is available for players to download via the Steam Workshop.
