Cloud9, a global esports organization, partners with The Smurfs to create an assortment of gaming apparel for gamers.
Cloud9 has partnered with several major brands over the years like Red Bull and AT&T, but this partnership is a first for the North American organization. IMPS is the official licensors of The Smurfs. They are known for working in close collaboration with their agents across the globe to develop successful licensed merchandising programs, films, amusement parks, video games, apparel, and more, for the show that has been a sensation for many decades.
The collaboration between The Smurfs and Cloud9 features a full line of uniquely designed hoodies, tees, jerseys, and accessories. In addition to this, there’s a completely new character addition by the name of “Gamer Smurf” that was created for this collaboration.
Cloud9 stated in an announcement post, “With its matching colors and sense of fun, Cloud9 and The Smurfs partnered in hopes to strike feelings of joy and nostalgia with fans as the collaboration pays homage to a childhood classic, The Smurfs, and C9’s history of smurfing in their competitions.

Smurfing is a term that was created by two World of Warcraft players who used the alternate I.D’s, “Papa Smurf” and “Smurfette.” As a result, smurfing refers to high-level players who created new accounts to play against and annihilate lower-ranked players, or to play alongside their lower-level friends.
Since then, the term has grown in popularity and become a part of every gamer’s vocabulary and a source of frustration for many newbie gamers.
Cloud9 even enlisted the legendary World of Warcraft players, Venruki and Ziqo, to be featured in their launch commercial, making a nostalgic ode to the history and the origins of smurfing.
Launched on November 18, fans can now purchase their 2021 Cloud 9 and The Smurfs, smurfing apparel.
