A New World Awaits in Channel37’s Ambitious Debut Title
At IGN Fan Fest, Finnish independent studio Channel37, founded by industry veterans, revealed its premiere title, The Last Caretaker. This immersive first-person survival action-adventure invites players to navigate an uncharted ocean world, where remnants of a lost civilization persist, and the fate of humanity lies in the hands of a single caretaker.
Launching into Early Access on Steam and the Epic Games Store this summer, The Last Caretaker promises a deep and thought-provoking experience. A console release is also in development for a later date.
A World Forgotten, A Mission Reclaimed
The world has changed beyond recognition—an endless ocean stretches in all directions, punctuated only by the decayed remains of those who stayed behind. Machines hum with forgotten purpose, beacons flash cryptic signals, and ancient infrastructure continues its silent operation. Yet, beneath the waves, something stirs—technology reimagined and reshaped to drift in the unknown.
As The Last Caretaker, players must chart their course through this vast ocean, scavenging lost knowledge, reactivating dormant systems, and ensuring the survival of humanity’s last hope. Deep within the Seed Vaults, the final human embryos await their journey to the stars. But not all that remains is at rest—some machines still whisper, still move, still watch.
Channel37’s Vision: A Game That Matters
“At Channel37, we’re not just making a game—we’re crafting an experience that is personal, shaped by decades of passion and expertise,” said Antti Ilvessuo, Co-Founder of Channel37. “With the backing of Supercell, we’ve had the freedom to build something truly unique. This is more than a survival game; it’s a story about duty, legacy, and the weight of carrying humanity’s last hope.”
Ilvessuo added, “The Last Caretaker is our love letter to exploration, mystery, and resilience. We’ve created a world that reacts, evolves, and hides secrets in plain sight. We believe in this game, and we can’t wait to share it with players.”
