Capcom delivered a packed lineup of announcements during the latest Nintendo Direct, revealing a major expansion for Dragon’s Dogma 2, confirming Nintendo Switch 2 support for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and announcing a new edition of Devil May Cry 5 for Nintendo’s next-generation platform.
The showcase featured release dates, new gameplay details, and platform expansions for several of Capcom’s biggest franchises.
Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen Arrives This October
The headline announcement was Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen, a substantial expansion that builds upon the open-world action RPG while bringing the complete experience to Nintendo Switch 2 for the first time.
Launching on October 9, 2026, Dragon’s Dogma 2: Dark Arisen will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2.
The expansion introduces players to the mysterious northern region of Norgan, where a new adventure centered around the enigmatic character Eir and the legendary Fallen Dragon unfolds.
Players can expect:
- A brand-new storyline set in the Northern region of Norgan
- New weapons, skills, and powerful relics to discover
- Twelve Lost Rites Dungeon Challenges
- Rare rewards and equipment tied to previous Arisen
- Additional character customization options, including hairstyles and tattoos
Capcom also confirmed two major free updates for the base game ahead of the expansion’s launch.
The first update, available now, introduces the reusable Eternal Ferrystone, making fast travel significantly more convenient. A second update scheduled for late August will bring improved performance, additional save slots, and further quality-of-life improvements.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword Heads to Nintendo Switch 2
Capcom also confirmed that Onimusha: Way of the Sword will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 alongside PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on September 25, 2026.
The upcoming action title marks the first completely new entry in the Onimusha franchise in two decades.
Set in a dark fantasy interpretation of Edo-period Japan, the game follows legendary swordsman Miyamoto Musashi as he battles demonic Genma forces threatening Kyoto.
Nintendo Switch 2 players will also gain access to exclusive motion-control functionality using the Joy-Con 2 controllers, allowing for more immersive sword combat and precision aiming mechanics.
The game is available for pre-order now across all supported platforms.
