Information about Call of Duty Warzone and Black Ops Cold War has been released about the upcoming season four that will be arriving on June 17th. The preview included a look at some of the new weapons, multiplayer maps, and additions to the game’s zombies mode.
With the arrival of Call of Duty’s newest season, a ton of new content has been previewed for the coming few months. With new game modes, operators, a new scorestreak, vehicles and a season-opening event titled “Ground Fall” coming to Warzone and Black Ops Cold War, the season will be full of unique and new content.
New Guns
The season four expansion for Warzone and Black Ops Cold War will also include five new guns. Two of the new weapons can be acquired via the battle pass, while the other three will be unlockable throughout the season. At battle pass tiers 15 and 31 of the season, players will unlock the new MG82 LMG, featuring the highest rate of fighter for the category and the slow, but powerful, C58 Assault Rifle. For the Black Ops Cold War multiplayer mode, players will be able to use a variety of new guns, including the Nail Gun special SMG, OTs 9 SMG, and a new Mace for meleeing. Players can obtain the unique weapons by completing contract challenges or purchasing specific weapon bundles that will be released with the season’s launch.
New and Returning Multiplayer Maps and Gamemodes
The free content expansion will also be introducing new and returning fan-favorite maps from past Call of Duty titles. The newest maps include Amsterdam, Collateral (2v2 and 6v6), and the returning maps Hijacked and Rush from the original Black Ops title. The new game mode being added will put players on the game’s largest maps, as they secure SAT-links scattered across the area. The returning modes of Capture the Flag and One in the Chamber will also be added to the game’s playlist with the arrival of season four. The season will also be adding a new scorestreak titled the “Handcannon” from the game’s story mode, which will one-shot most players and do heavy damage to enemy vehicles or scorestreaks.
Zombies Content
Season four will also be adding new content for the undead side of Call of Duty. Included in the update will be a new Zoo-based region for the Outbreak mode. The season will also see a new map for fans of the traditional round-based survival mode, with the addition of “Mauer der Toten” located in a horror-filled eastern Berlin. Playstation players will be receiving updates to the Onslaught game mode coming later in the season, including a new mode titled “Onslaught Accelerated.”
Warzone Changes and Mysteries
Along with content being added for Warzone like the new Dirt Bike and two guns, a number of map changes have been made to Verdansk. Included in the update will be changes to Verdansk’s downtown locations, with a recreation of the map Hijacked now being a core visual feature of the game’s Gulag. Mysterious red doors have also been added with the update, which will have unknown effects when players enter them. According to the development blog, “They allow you to [[REDACTED]] around the [[REDACTED]]. What’s behind them? Explore and enter them to [[REDACTED]] across the [[REDACTED]].”
