The new patch for season 5 of Warzone comes with some major changes to the Perk meta, as well as new weapons, map changes and more.
Warzone Season 5 Battle Pass
The new Battle pass for Call of Duty Warzone Season 5 comes with an assortment of cosmetic weapon and operator skins, as well as the ability to unlock the two new weapons, EM2 and TEC-9 at levels 15 and 31 respectively. Stand-out skins from the battle pass include the Microchip legendary blueprint for the Tek9 and the Samurai skin for Kitsune at level 100.
Huge Perk Changes
Two new perks and a shakeup to a semi-redundant perk gives us the biggest change we have ever had to the perk meta in Warzone Season 5 to date.
New Perks
Combat Scout (Slot 3, Yellow) – Damaging an enemy briefly highlights and automatically pings them.
Tempered (Slot 2, Red) – Armor Plates are reinforced and now absorb 75 damage instead of 50. Only two Armor Plates are needed for an Operator to be considered “fully armored.”
Perk Changes
Cold-Blooded (Slot 1, Blue) – Undetectable by AI targeting systems and thermal optics. Does not trigger High Alert warning and negates Combat Scout.
And seeing as no one ran thermal optics, Cold-Blooded has gone from pointless to serving as a specific counter to Combat Scout. The effectiveness of one is dictated by the adoption rate of the other, so time will tell how beneficial this buff is.
New Rush Gulag
Based on the classic Black Ops II map, this new gulag rips the speedball arena of the map and dumps it straight into Warzone season 5’s gulag.

Warzone Season 5 Map Changes
There are several changes to the map this patch. With Raven Software holding back some of the information in the patch notes. Encouraging you to get into the game and explore the secrets of what this patch has to offer.
Mobile Broadcast Stations
These new modified Bertha trucks carry large communication arrays and are easy to spot, but they spawn in randomized locations around the map, so keep your eyes peeled.
Red Doors
The red doors have changed functionality slightly, with a slight chance to be sent to a centralized location where you may run into other teams, before exiting through a selection of doors to different areas of the map. This new areal likely ties into this season easter egg.
Other Changes for Warzone Season 5
There have been a range of minor bug fixes, including the particularly annoying sniper glint bug.
Raven Software has also changed loot spawns across Verdansk:
- New Gulag and in-game lobby loadouts
- The Sentry Gun Killstreak can now be found in Supply Boxes
- The TEC-9 (BOCW) and EM2 (BOCW) have been added to the loot pool
Finally, a long-awaited change to zipline mechanics means that you can now detach from an ascender before reaching the summit. Just be sure to be high enough to open your parachute if you want to bail out.
