Why is synergy important for Caitlyn?

Caitlyn can win games easily if you pick her in the right situation. She is, most of the time, a champion that depends on the situation of the game. The next part of the Caitlyn LoL Guide will focus on pairings of Caitlyn.

In terms of support, Caitlyn is much better if she is paired with ranged support like Nami, Lulu, Janna, Morgana, etc… This is because she needs help winning the poking battle in the lane. Imagine a bot lane where you have Caitlyn Alistar against a Varus Morgana pair, even though Caitlyn has the longer range she won’t be able to win poking trades in a 2v1. She requires a support champion who can help her with the trades. Whereas most melee support champions like Alistar, Leona, and Rakan are engage-oriented.

Above mentioned ranged champions also have synergy because of their ability to protect their ADC. Because of her lack of mobility (she only has E), Caitlyn also benefits from the enchantment supports. Above mentioned supports like Nami, Lulu, Janna, Karma, and Morgana are great with Caitlyn not only because they can match her poke in the lane, but they can also protect her in the skirmishes. They are massively helpful to Caitlyn as she always tries to keep her range with enemies. A Janna ult can push enemies, A Morgana Q can stop enemies from rushing, a Karma shield helps Caitlyn to care distance, etc…

1) Caitlyn Morgana Synergy

This is one of the most classic duos in bot lane. Caitlyn loves to push lane and jail enemies under their own tower. Morgana, with her W, is an incredible aid to Caitlyn’s heavy pushing and poking play in the lane. Also, if Morgana can land a Q, Caitlyn has free time to set up her W trap and put the enemy in Jail for 4 seconds. This is an absolutely fatal combo as Caitlyn can W, Q, Auto, E, Auto in that 4 seconds and dish out massive amounts of damage. Lastly, Morgana’s E ability is really helpful for a low-mobility ADC like Caitlyn. A well-timed E can save her from troubling situations.

2) Caitlyn Lux Synergy

This is the pairing that is most used in competitive play. This pair has unparalleled pushing and poking ability. The way Lux can both poke and zone with her E is incredibly helpful in forcing Caitlyn’s will on enemies. Lux’s Q works the same as Morgana’s Q in the combo but it’s a faster projectile and can also stop 2 man ganks. Also, the damage that Lux brings to the table is far more than Morgana, so if she can hit a Q on a squishy target after level 6, it’s most likely their death warrant.
