Dallas Empire’s Ian “C6” Porter and Reece “Vivid” Drost announced their restricted free agency in the CDL and started looking for different options.
This season, Dallas Empire failed to meet expectations in the Call of Duty League. Even though the organization made a huge move in the middle of the season by acquiring Vivid, it was not enough in the end. The Dallas representatives made it to the Losers Final Stage but fell short against Toronto Ultra.
After the result, the team’s important pieces C6 and Vivid announced that they are restricted free agents before the upcoming CDL season. This means that we may see them play for a different team in CDL’s third season. However, they may also remain with the Dallas representatives.
C6 is one of the most famous Call of Duty players of all time. He used to play competitively as “Crimsix” and lifted many trophies in his career. Ian continued his achievements with the start of the newly-formed Call of Duty League and won the prize with his talented teammates.
On the other hand, Vivid had a huge impact on Dallas Empire’s grind this season. He was playing for Los Angeles Guerillas at the beginning of the league but joined the team before Stage 4. Dallas Empire clinched second place in Stage 4 Major and fourth in Stage 5 Major.
Dallas Empire had a miracle opening season for franchise history and won the first-ever Call of Duty League, back in 2020. C6 was the key part of the roster and all the fans expected the same result from the team in 2021. However, Dallas Empire struggled during the Losers Final Stage and ended its run earlier than expected.
Both C6 and Vivid are first-tier players in the CDL and other teams will race each other to transfer them to their rosters. It is still unclear which teams these two will join.
