The tournament format
Last year’s edition of the Spike of Nations saw ten teams compete against each other, with Team Portugal defeating Team United Kingdom 2-0 in the Grand Finals. This year’s installment will play out from October 7-9 and has an additional two teams.
The twelve teams will be divided into three groups of four. The group stage will be a single round-robin. The top two teams from each group will advance to the knockout stages to eventually crown the Spike of Nations champions.
Last year saw notable individuals like Team Liquid streamers Jonas “AverageJonas” Navarsete, Connor “flights” Dykes, and Natus Vincere’s Artur “7ssk7” Kurshin participate. BLAST and Riot Games are yet to announce the complete list of Valorant professionals and streamers competing in the tournament.
Expect to see a complete list of participants and further announcements about the Spike of Nations in the weeks to come. The tournament will be exclusively streamed on the BLASTtv Twitch channel.
