After working for six years across a number of commercial leadership roles in the Harry Potter franchise, Tom Greene will be joining esports tournament organizer BLAST as their Chief Growth Officer.
Information about the parties
During his tenure in the Harry Potter franchise, Greene was in charge of Pottermore Publishing, the digital publisher of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts ebooks and audiobooks. As for BLAST, the last 18 months have been quite hectic for the Copenhagen-based business that saw them move into a number of new titles including Valorant, Dota 2, Apex Legends and Fortnite. Their leading asset, global CS:GO tournament circuit BLAST Premier, has increased its reach and in January 2021 posted the most watched CS:GO game of all time during the Global Final. BLAST Premier also announced numerous commercial partnerships with brands like Coinbase, L33T Gaming and Unilever.
Producing newer and better content for the fans
BLAST have shared that Greene’s appointment will help BLAST create a more direct relationship with their esports fanbase, thus helping improve and increase their efforts to expand their consumers and audience. BLAST will aim to utilize Greene’s experience, gained during his time with WarnerMedia, in building technology products that capture the attention of key audiences. Through these new products, BLAST will diversify their offerings and revenue streams.
