Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 5 is packed with fresh Multiplayer content, new weapons, seasonal events, and the final chapter of the Zombies storyline.
Activision has officially unveiled the roadmap for Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 Season 5, giving players a detailed look at what’s arriving when the update launches on July 23. The new season introduces remastered Multiplayer maps, brand-new weapons, limited-time game modes, major Zombies additions, and fresh Endgame content.
Season 5 is also expected to be the final major seasonal update for Black Ops 7 before attention shifts toward the next chapter of Call of Duty.
Multiplayer Receives Classic Maps and New Modes
Season 5 expands Black Ops 7‘s Multiplayer offering with a mix of returning fan favorites and brand-new battlegrounds.
At launch, players can jump into Frequency, originally featured in Black Ops 4, alongside the return of the classic Dig map from Black Ops 2. Joining them is Jubilee, a brand-new medium-sized arena designed exclusively for Black Ops 7.
The mid-season Reloaded update will introduce another new map, Turbo Tilt, as well as Freerun: Descent, the latest course added to the game’s Freerun mode.
Several limited-time Multiplayer modes will also rotate throughout the season, including:
- Overdrive Domination – Capture objectives while earning stars to help your team secure victory.
- Gauntlet Rush – A fast-paced playlist that cycles through multiple classic game modes in a single match.
- Cranked Moshpit – Eliminate enemies to reset your countdown timer before it reaches zero.
These additions continue Activision’s strategy of keeping Multiplayer fresh with rotating playlists and new competitive challenges.
Zombies Storyline Reaches Its Conclusion
One of the biggest highlights of Season 5 is the final chapter of the Black Ops 7 Zombies narrative.
Launching during the Reloaded update, Rex Infernus serves as the last round-based DLC map in the current Zombies storyline. Players will battle through the Warden’s growing corruption in an attempt to bring the long-running narrative to its conclusion.
Season 5 also expands Zombies at launch with several new experiences, including:
- Eidskallen Lighthouse Survival
- Directed Mode for Kowakujō
- Starting Room: Kowakujō
- Rogue Run: Astra Malorum
Later in the season, players can also expect the return of the popular Widow’s Wine Perk-a-Cola, alongside the Fully Packed GobbleGum and legacy Ultra-Rarity weapons such as the Olympia shotgun and TR2 marksman rifle.
Endgame Adds New Challenges
Black Ops 7’s Endgame mode continues to evolve with Season 5.
A new Assignment called Burn Run challenges players to drive an explosive vehicle through a series of flaming checkpoints before time expires.
Season 5 also introduces Exotic Ability Boosts, rare upgrades found primarily in Nightmare locations. These enhancements improve Major and Minor Abilities by reducing cooldowns, increasing damage output, boosting ammunition capacity, and providing other powerful bonuses.
Activision has also confirmed that Endgame will remain free-to-play throughout Season 5.
Four New Weapons Join the Arsenal
Players will have several new tools to unlock throughout the season.
The FG42 Assault Rifle becomes available through the Season 5 Battle Pass and offers a balanced combination of stopping power and controllable recoil.
Also included in the Battle Pass is the Gremlin SMG, a pair of dual-wielded submachine guns built around aggressive close-range combat.
Later in the season, players can earn the Mammoth LMG during a limited-time event. Featuring twin reciprocating barrels, the weapon delivers devastating firepower at the cost of mobility and handling.
Finally, melee-focused players can unlock the Mace by completing a weekly challenge.
Season 5 also expands weapon customization with several new conversion kits, thermal optics, and specialized attachments arriving throughout the season.
Seasonal Events Bring Exclusive Rewards
Multiple limited-time events will run during Season 5, giving players additional opportunities to unlock exclusive cosmetics and weapons.
The Machine of War event rewards players with the Mammoth LMG, universal weapon camos, reticles, loading screens, and other cosmetic items.
Meanwhile, the Treyarch 30th Anniversary celebration lets players earn exclusive calling cards, emblems, and the “Gunniversary” MK35 ISR weapon blueprint simply by logging in throughout the event.
Zombies players will also be able to compete in the Eidskallen Leaderboard Event, which features exclusive weapon blueprints, themed camos, and additional cosmetic rewards.
More events, including a Ranked Series competition and a Freerun Leaderboard Event, are expected to arrive during the Reloaded update.
