Bilibili Gaming took down ThunderTalk Gaming in the Demacia Cup 2022 Grand Final to lift the trophy ahead of the 2023 season.
Demacia Cup is a competition in China that is held between two seasons. The 2022 tournament was concluded a while ago. Most of the LPL teams promoted their academy players to the main roster. However, some teams chose to try their new players ahead of the new season. Moreover, some youth players, streamers, and even casters compete against each other. As expected, the winner of this year was an LPL team. Bilibili Gaming took down ThunderTalk Gaming in the final to lift the Demacia Cup 2022 trophy. Bilibili acquired Yagao a while ago and he had impressive performances throughout the tournament.
Firstly, the competition started with the first stage where amateur teams competed against each other. Three teams, DYU, Huya MOJ, and MAX made it to the second stage. LPL teams joined the equation in the second stage. Even though TT Gaming took the victory over BLG in this stage, Top Esports withdrew from the tournament and BLG filled their spot. The third and final stage decided the winner. BLG, RNG, EDG, and TT made it to the semifinals. BLG swept RNG and TT took the victory over EDG with a score of 3-1. In the final stage, Bilibili Gaming won over TT Gaming in the Demacia Cup 2022 Final. Xun was the MVP in the last two games of the series and played a huge role in BLG’s victory.
Bilibili Gaming’s Yagao transfer was one of the biggest moves in the off-season. The Chinese mid laner won the MVP award seven times throughout the competition and made a great start to his new chapter. Yagao is the latest LPL winner and he also made it to the Worlds 2022 Semifinals with his team. It looked like the experienced player brought a new and better understanding of the game to BLG.
