The launch of EA Sports FC 24 is just around the corner, and it’s safe to say that the annual debate around ratings is doing the rounds online. Various leaks have already begun to surface detailing the ins and outs of clubs around the world, with EA once again showing that they are still veering on the side of caution. But, there is one notable player that has been practically nuked by the company heading into launch. Check out Gamelevate for the biggest downgrade in EA Sports FC 24!
Jamie Vardy (OVR 78)
Jamie Vardy is one of the best strikers in the Premier League’s recent years. Across 307 appearances, he scored 136 goals including 24 in Leicester City’s 2015/16 title-winning season and 23 in 2019/20, winning the Golden Boot for the season.
His rating in Fifa peaked at 86 OVR in Fifa 21 and Fifa 22, and he was known as one of the most overpowered forwards on Ultimate Team thanks to his blistering pace stats.
However, fast forward to FC 24, he has gone from OP to practically unusable.
On the back of Leicester’s relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2022/23 season, Jamie Vardy has seen a downgrade of -7 OVR, dropping from 85 OVR to 78 OVR. Crucially as well, his pace has been dropped to just 76, which is nowhere near competitive enough for the sweat-fest that is Ultimate Team.
In all, the former England striker has seen the following downgrades across the board:
- -8 Pace
- -5 Shooting
- -1 Passing
- -6 Dribbling
- -5 Physicality
During the 2022/23 season, Jamie Vardy made 37 appearances, with only 19 starts. He scored three goals and four assists, his worst return since being promoted to the Premier League in nine seasons.
Whilst Jamie Vardy’s downgrade might be the biggest we’ve caught wind of yet in FC 24 so far, do you think someone else could be slated to match or even beat it? Let us know who you think will receive the biggest downgrade in FC 24 this year!
