League of Legends’ latest champion, Renata Glasc, is now available on the live servers after being playable on PBE for a while. THE CHEM-BARONESS is primarily a support champion that has a very obscure kit. Players planning to learn Renata will have to go through a steep learning curve. However, if you are willing to invest time, she can be a deadly force once mastered. Since she is fairly new, we’ve put together a guide explaining her best build.
Although many players might try to play her in the solo lanes, Renata is absolutely made for the support role. She is an enchantress that packs a lot of damage and can buff the team’s carry whenever needed.
Best Runes for Renata
Renata’s best primary runestone is probably Summon Aery from the Sorcery tree. The rune will provide shield, healing, and bonus damage. This should be followed by Manaflow Band for Mana sustain, Transcendence for additional Ability Haste, and Gathering Storm for scaling damage.
Taking tank runes are vital for your survival when playing Renata. She is fairly squishy so take Bone Plating and Font of Life from the Resolve tree.
Best Items for Renata
Start the game with Spellthief’s Edge and health potions. Play the early game relatively safe but poke the enemies whenever possible. Rush Ionian Boots of Lucidity as your first item since it will grant you additional Ability Haste. Once done, start building towards Imperial Mandate, which will be your Mythic Item. This item will allow Renata to significantly boost allies’ damage along with her own damage.
After the Mythic item is complete, build Staff of Flowing Water, Zhonya’s Hourglass. Round off the build with Vigilant Wardstone and keep a space open in your inventory for Control Wards. You can also include Redemption, Ardent Censer, or another damage item in your build if needed.
