Season 2 is now live across Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC, sending players into a brand-new European theater of war packed with chemical hazards, night operations, and cinematic large-scale battles.
Announced by Electronic Arts and Battlefield Studios, Season 2 delivers its content in a three-phase rollout, beginning today and running through April.
Two New Maps Enter the Battlefield
Season 2 introduces two all-new locations:
Contaminated – A large-scale forest map devastated by experimental weapons and heavy shelling. The environment is choked with chemical residue, creating unpredictable sightlines and dangerous traversal.
Hagental Base – A fortified military installation focused on close-quarters combat, stealth tactics, and indoor firefights. This map arrives later in the season and plays a central role in night-based modes.
Phase 1: Extreme Measures (Live Now)
The opening phase launches with Contaminated and a new limited-time mode called VL-7. This experience introduces psychoactive smoke that blankets key areas, distorting player perception with hallucinations and forcing squads to adapt on the fly.
The mode emphasizes chaos, disorientation, and fast decision-making, turning environmental hazards into tactical tools.
Phase 2: Nightfall (March 17)
Phase 2 shifts the action to Hagental Base with a full night operations theme. Darkened corridors, disabled lighting, and stealth-focused gameplay dominate this phase.
Players gain access to Night Vision Goggles, allowing squads to navigate pitch-black environments and gain the upper hand in ambush situations. A dedicated Nightfall Gauntlet playlist will also be available in Battlefield REDSEC.
Phase 3: Hunter & Prey (April 17)
Season 2 concludes with Operation Augur, a cinematic limited-time mode inspired by Battlefield 1’s Operations format. Available across both maps, the mode emphasizes:
- Large-scale objectives
- Sustained multi-stage battles
- Squad coordination across extended campaigns
It’s designed to deliver Battlefield at its most dramatic and story-driven.
More Weapons, Vehicles, and Customization
Across all three phases, players can expect:
- New weapons and gadgets
- Additional vehicles
- Expanded customization options
- A new Battle Pass and rotating store content
These updates roll out gradually to keep progression fresh throughout the season.

Battlefield 6 and Battlefield REDSEC are available now on:
- PlayStation 5

Season 2 content is free for all players, with optional cosmetic purchases through the Battle Pass.
