The League’s strongest team takes down the CDL defending champs in a heated and exciting battle.
Atlanta FaZe have been the strongest team throughout the 2021 CDL season. Securing wins after wins brought the first spot with a huge point difference. FaZe continued their dominant run in the fourth stage of Call of Duty League action to face the defending champion Dallas Empire in the final stage. The Dallas Empire made FaZe sweat but couldn’t complete the Stage 4 run with a victory. With that said, Atlanta FaZe secured their third Major win this season with another great team effort.
Garrison Hardpoint
The Dallas Empire-Atlanta FaZe series started with a close Hardpoint battle. Both teams were almost even until Dallas representatives made the difference with Anthony “Shotzzy” Cuevas-Castro’s incredible effort defending the Hardpoint site. McArthur “Cellium” Jovel tried his best to crack open the defense line but the legend Ian “C6” Porter hunted him and the other FaZe members. The Atlanta team struggled after reaching 140 points whereas the Dallas Empire were aiming for 240. Indervir “iLLey” Dhaliwal came out clutch in the final moments to end the game in favor of his team. The defending CDL champion won the first map with a score of 250-202 thanks to Shotzzy and C6 duo.
Standoff Search and Destroy
The first three rounds of the SnD map went in favor of the FaZe by far. The pressure Cellium created across the sites made it look easy; however, the Dallas Empire were not trying to give up that easy. After matching the map to 3-3, they have won another round and got the lead. Blowing up a 3-0 lead would have destroyed FaZe’s mentality but Chris “Simp” Lehr carried his team to prevent a possible 2-0 lead in the series. The Atlanta FaZe members gathered their minds together to close out the map in 10 rounds and tied the series.
Garrison Control
Atlanta FaZe are the best Control team in the league by far. With Simp’s damage contribution, it is almost impossible to beat these players. As expected, Atlanta FaZe secured an easy 3-0 win in Control to take the lead in the series. Simp once again stepped up with 27 kills and 4,050 points. On the Dallas side, C6 struggled especially in duels against his opponents.

Moscow Hardpoint
Back with another Hardpoint map, this time it was Moscow. Just like the first map of the series, the competition was at its peak between two giants. Atlanta FaZe handled the opponent’s pressure until the 200-point level but could not keep up with it throughout the rest. iLLey stepped up once again just like he did in the first map and carried his team to 250 points with his 27-kill performance. FaZe could not get enough support from Alec “Arcitys” Sanderson who only had 1,485 points and 16 kills. Moreover, his total hill time was only 10 seconds.
Moscow Search and Destroy
The Atlanta FaZe looked lost during the first two rounds against Dallas’ dominant gameplay. The struggle continued on the FaZe side as the rounds went by with Reece “Vivid” Drost’s clutch plays all around the map. He had more points than most of the FaZe members combined which eventually led Dallas to the victory. The series came to 3-2 in favor of the Dallas representatives.
Raid Control
As mentioned earlier, Control is FaZe’s comfort zone. Dallas Empire fought until the end but failed to complete the effort due to Tyler “aBeZy” Pharris’ incredible performance in the last round. Fans should also thank Cellium as he lurked every Dallas member throughout the map.
Express Search and Destroy
As the rounds went by, we have seen how much experience is worth especially in this kind of matchup. The legend C6 stepped up when his team needed his support the most and scored more points than the whole FaZe squad combined. He led his team in terms of first blood, kills per round and even included a clutch bomb defuse on top of his legendary performance like a cherry on top. Dallas got the lead in the series, 4-3.
Apocalypse Hardpoint
Dallas Empire came to this map with a match point in their pockets and most importantly a mental lead regarding the first two Hardpoint wins. Atlanta FaZe were day and night in the third Hardpoint compared to other ones. Dominance from the beginning until the end decided the winner and we saw the ninth map in 2021 CDL Stage 4 Major.
Raid Search and Destroy
The last map was really tense considering the result would decide the winner. Atlanta FaZe started with a 2-0 run in the early game and even improved it to a 5-4 lead in the later stages. Dallas Empire could not respond to aBeZy’s clutch plays and lost the last round of the series.
Atlanta FaZe have already guaranteed a spot in Championship which is a whole other competition that will be played after the regular season stages come to an end. Until then, FaZe are just consolidating the first spot by winning these Majors.
