The legendary support Zaqueri “aphromoo” Black retires from professional play, announced on YouTube by the player himself.
aphromoo has been playing professional League of Legends for quite some time. However, he didn’t sign a contract with any of the LCS teams before this season even though he is one of the most experienced players in his role. Every LCS team announced their rosters and he wasn’t in any of them. Today, he announced he has retired from professional play in a YouTube video and published it on his social media channels.

aphromoo started his professional League of Legende career back in 2011. At the beginning of his career, he used to play as an ADC. During this time, he played for Team Rez, v8 eSports, Epik Gamer, Team Solo Mid Evo, mTw North America, Monomaniac Ferus, Team Curse, and Team FeaR. After joining Counter Logic Gaming, he changed his role to support. Since that year, he has played as a support throughout his career. While playing for CLG, he teamed up with Doublelift and formed one of the most successful and robust LCS bot lanes in history. He left CLg to join 100 Thieves where he spent two years. In 2019, aphromoo joined Dignitas and spent another two years. Before receiving the “aphromoo retires” news, he played for FlyQuest for one season.
aphromoo reached 2000 career assists in 2017 and was the first support player in LCS history to receive the Most Valuable Player award in the NA LCS 2018 Spring Season. Lastly, aphromoo was the oldest player in the LCS 2022 Spring Split.
The “aphromoo retires” news hit his fans pretty hard. However, he will be around as a content creator. In the video, aphromoo says that he will stream more and play various games apart from League of Legends including Apex Legends and VALORANT.
