French indie studio Seele Games has officially announced Abracademia, a cozy idle sorcery life-sim that lets players live out their magical school dreams, all while the game quietly runs at the bottom of their screen. The newly revealed trailer marks the studio’s first release coming to Steam.
Designed to be played alongside everyday activities, Abracademia allows players to manage their wizard’s life passively or actively, making it ideal for multitasking during work, study, or even while playing other games.
A Magic School That Fits Your Schedule
In Abracademia, players create their own mage from scratch, choosing appearance, background, and even their personal wand. From there, they’re accepted into a magical academy where daily life includes attending classes, learning spells, making friends, going on adventures, and eventually graduating into the wider wizarding world.
One of the game’s standout features is its flexible pacing system. Players can slow the game down to let it run quietly in the background, or speed things up for a more hands-on experience, giving full control over how involved they want to be.
Deep Customization and Endless Magic
The game offers a surprising amount of depth for an idle experience. Players will choose from five different covens, each with unique content and progression paths. Over 300 spells across 20 magical disciplines can be learned and combined, allowing players to experiment with synergies and powerful magical builds.
Social interaction also plays a major role. Fellow students can become close friends, rivals, or even romantic interests, with relationships shaping how each school year unfolds.
