Get ready for punches with the latest 2XKO Vi gameplay trailer drop!
Riot Games remembered it existed and gave us both a new fighter and a beta announcement.
But how is the pink-haired brawler shaping up, and will we see the lady at EVO Las Vegas?
2XKO Vi Gameplay
Starting off, yes, 2XKO will be at EVO Las Vegas this year along with the prodigal sister. Also Marvel Tokon will be there as well, so good luck Riot getting any seats.
However, along with the 2XKO Vi gameplay, we got news of the last beta drop. This will be the official beta before launch and will be open until then.
Meaning we are actually for real this time getting close to the official release!
Great job, Riot; you have 10 characters ready after only a short 9 years!
But enough dunking on Riot; let’s discuss the 2XKO Vi gameplay.

Firstly, Vi is shaping up to be a heavily agile character with command dodges and aerial extenders in her toolkit. Starting off the trailer, we see her command dash forward/backward. From there she can apply a mix-up and whiff punish misreads.

Later she avoids a cross-screen move in the air by extending her air time with a downwards blast. Also, she can dodge through opponents, as seen later, giving her cross-up potential. Just like her jungling, her design is around getting in and out fast.

But she has plenty of offensive plays too with command throws and full vertical attacks. A Geece Howard-esque pillar hits the very top of the screen, cutting off aerial pursuers.

Also, the 2XKO Vi gameplay shows a cross-screen charge-up punch that leads into a tag combo. From the looks of it, she plays very fast and hard, relying on good reads and movement.
10 Years In The Can: I Wanted A Tag Fighter
I compromised and played a half-baked Gacha!
Although the 2XKO Vi gameplay looks alright, I cannot help but be worried for the game itself. I am still not over the fact it took them near 10 years for just 10 characters.

Because it’s looking like Sett and Teemo will not make the initial roster, and I’m not sure we will make it to DLC.
Let’s be real here. Marvel Tokon got announced a few weeks ago and has way more buzz. Sure, they only got 8 characters so far, but from what I can tell, they have only been working on it for, like, a year!
Not to mention the Invincible fighter, Virtua Fighter 6, and other titles—the competition is strong. Also, the League of Legends hype train is kind of dead in the water.
There are so many other better and worse fighting games, and old LOL characters you cared about 10 years ago are not going to keep players interested. Not even the Netflix show could bring in more fans to the game.
Also really ask yourself what is stopping you from just playing the re-release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
The dedicated LOL player sucks at other games in general anyhow; they will hate a dedicated fighter!
