The 2XKO New Project L title change is here, and some gamers are not liking it!
Riot Games announced the title change for the upcoming League of Legends Fighter.
But what else has been revealed apart from the subpar title drop?
2XKO New Project L Title Change
So the title has changed from Project L to 2XKO. Because it’s a two-on-two fighting game,.
But some players online since the reveal on their website and X have responded not in favor of the name change.

Mainly because it sounds like a K-pop group band rather than a fighting game. Many are even saying online that the game should have just stayed called Project L!
Of course, the name does not affect gameplay, but it does affect the feel and vibe of a game. Think of Marvel vs. Capcom or Dragon Ball FighterZ. Very simple and straight to the point, but effective at telling a person that these are fighting games.

If you knew nothing about Marvel vs. Capcom but you heard someone say it, your mind would jump to, Oh, that sounds like a fighting game or movie between the 2 IPs. Imagine someone dropping the title 2XKO in a casual conversation.
You would think someone was telling you their password or naming an element. But this was clearly done with minimalism in mind, as it keeps the title able to fit on brand merchandise nice and tight. But they could have just come up with a better title and shortened it from there. Mortal Kombat gets turned into MK all the time, and it sounds cool. This, according to many gamers, does not!
Illaoi Revealed
But luckily, the disappointing name drop was not the only new update, as they revealed a new fighter. With the gameplay trailer, they showed off the Kraken Priestess Illaoi smacking Echo about. It was for only a few seconds, but enough to get the vibe of her character.

From the looks of it, she appears to be a heavy grappler-based character. Or potentially a spacing-focused character with her tentacools taking up half the screen!
This is great news for all three people who play Illaoi top lane and nowhere else.

But in all seriousness, she looks like a good fit for the roster.
Along with her, we got to see Yasuo, Darius, Echo, and Ahri go at it for a bit. These characters were already revealed, but it is nice to see them in action none the less.
Along with this, the developers updated their website with a full preview for the year 2024.
So far, the developers hope to roll out at-home playtesting before the end of the year.
This has also come with the option to sign up for playesting now via their website. Give the page a look if you are interested in grabbing an early build of the game.
The game is looking for a full release in 2025 on Playstation 5, Xbox Series S and X, and PC!
Will you be picking up 2XKO?
