The 2022 Asian Games feature seven different game titles, but the one we are focusing on today is League of Legends!
The tournament is participated in by esports athletes from countries all over Asia, and the 2022 edition has esports titles as an official medal sport for the first time.

What countries are playing League of Legends in the 2022 Asian Games?

There are 15 countries participating in the inaugural appearance of the Riot Games title in the Asian Games, after Kuwait withdrew from the tournament. They are:
- China
- Malaysia
- India
- Saudi Arabia
- Chinese Taipei
- Hong Kong
- Japan
- Kazakhstan
- Korea
- Macau
- Maldives
- Palestine
- Thailand
- Vietnam
- United Arab Emirates

2022 League of Legends Asian Games Format

The format of the tournament is fairly standard, with 11 teams participating in the Group Stage, and being split into three groups of three and one group of two (due to the withdrawal of Kuwait).
Matches will be best-of-one formats, with the group winners heading to the knockout stages of the tournament.

In the case of a tiebreaker, the stipulations are:
- Head-to-head record
- Average time of victories
- Number of tower takedowns
- Number of kills
- Total gold earnings
- Tiebreaker game(s), broken using the criteria above
- Drawing of lots
In the knockout stage, the four group winners will be joined by the four seeded teams (China, Malaysia, India, and Saudi Arabia) and play a single-elimination bracket.
This then leads to the semi-finals and, finally, the final of the whole League of Legends Asian Games tournament.
